Pastor Steve Olivieri:

(Jan. 6, 2012 – present)

Steve is the husband to his college sweetheart Sara & have three beautiful children. Steve has attended Cornerstone Fellowship since he was 7 years old. When Cornerstone Fellowship joined with Mill Run Mennonite church forming Cornerstone Fellowship of Mill Run, Steve signed on as a Covenant member & attended during his summer breaks from college.

In 2008 Steve & his family moved from Fairfax, Va, where he was employed as a cardiac catheterization lab specialist, back to this area to be closer to family. Steve also began in earnest to test his calling toward vocational ministry. In 2010 Steve became a licensed pastor credentialed through the Mennonite church – USA & became a co-pastor alongside Jeff Jones. After the church’s official affirmation of him, on Jan. 6, 2012 Steve took over as pastor of Cornerstone Fellowship of Mill Run.

Currently he is also the commander of Cornerstone Fellowship’s Awana Kid’s Club that was started in 2010. Steve is most known for the passion & energy he brings to the pastorate. Steve and his wife Sara are both passionate about discipleship. Steve says the best sermons and most effective ministry often does not happen within four walls of the church, but happens between coworkers during a break, in restaurants, at coffee shops, in living rooms, and in garages when the church takes the gospel OUT into the world meeting people where they are at. Steve and Sara also have a big heart for the marginalized of society. Sara teaches at ACRP’s school based elementary program in Altoona for kids with emotional behavior problems. Steve co-leads a discipleship and accountability group particularly for men with various addictions. Steve and Sara are quick to point out that people don’t care what or who (Jesus Christ) you know until people know that you genuinely know that you genuinely care about them as a person first and foremost.
Most of all Steve believes the church and it’s members are a family, God’s family. By faith in Jesus Christ alone we are all adopted sons and daughters of God, our heavenly father. The church operates most effectively as the hands and feet of Jesus when it looks, feels and acts like the spiritual family God intended.
Steve is also passionate about tastefully integrating technology into church ministry as well. Steve loves to use PowerPoint & occasional video clips to help illustrate biblical principles during his sermons. Steve though is quick to point out that technology is not a mask for bad theology & a watered down gospel message. Also a computer screen should never take the place of real friendships with real people in person. Technology though, when used along side of correct doctrine unapologetically rooted in God’s word, provides a dynamic way of presenting biblical truth to a technology driven world.

When Steve is not working at the church he enjoys playing with his family. Steve also loves all things outdoors & sports related. He is also an avid bowhunter & fisherman. Avid doesn’t mean he’s great at it but still loves it.
