We, Cornerstone Fellowship of Mill Run, are “members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit.” (Ephesians 2: 19-22).

CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS OF Cornerstone Fellowship of Mill Run – adopted Feb. 2016

1) Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the only sure foundation, the only basis for meaningful and eteral life. “No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11) We believe Jesus Christ is the only way to personal salvation, and the sole architect and builder of the church.

2) Our salvation is a gift from God, accomplished by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and imparted to us by the Holy Spirit. When God poured out the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, the crowd asked how they should be saved, Peter’s reply in Acts 2:38 was to, “ baptized..and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” This corresponds to the spirit’s work of convicting, cleansing, and empowering. Likewise, we affirm repentance, believer’s baptism, and the reception of the Holy Spirit as fundamental to Christian discipleship.

3) We freely submit to the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, as our authority for faith and practice. We welcome the ministry of God’s Word among us, knowing that, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,” (2 Timothy 3:16)

4) We recognize that God’s plan is for us to walk out our Christian faith in community rather than in isolation. We affirm both intimate personal communion with the Lord and Spirit-led corporate discernment as God’s way for his people. We honor the spiritual family God has called us to and we respect the spiritual authority of its leadership.

5) We affirm the need to keep our covenant with Christ and His church current, and therefore, agree to the ongoing process of self and corporate accountability. Our membership is based upon a public profession of faith and agreement with this covenant statement.

Each member of the church family of Cornerstone Fellowship individually affirms the following:
